Since we're probably going to be getting a clue soon, I figured we should set one of these up for ourselves.

Yeah.

Something tells me this game is gonna be hard. I don't know anybody here.

I only know a few familiar faces from past games. And even then, apparently one of them is a double who's trapped in some other place? Like, wow Hatter, talk about trying to outdo yourself here.

What can you tell me about that guy?

A lot of the games where death is involved is run by the Hatter, so even though this one isn't like that I'd keep my guard up.

So even if we're not dying, he might have a pretty sick sense of fun. Got it.

The helpful hints are new though. Usually we're expected to figure out what to do on our own.

It might be because of the eclectic playerbase that's been gathered.

Also, can you tell me a little about yourself?

Of course. Well, I've been in camp for about a year and a half? I think that's right... I'm from England, obviously, although right now I live with a bunch of basketball players and the dirt they track into the cabin makes me weep.

They probably smell pretty bad, too, huh?

[ groans ]

I'm in the process of writing out a chore wheel.

Teenage boys are the worst. I should know.

I figured.

What about you? What's your story?

Oh, me? I'm from New York. I'm Spider-Man, which isn't much of a secret because of ... circumstances. I'm pretty much a big science geek. Oh, and I'm in camp right now. I live with these guys named Jaime and Ronan and my ex-girlfriend, Gwen.

Oh, that's ni-- wait, what?

I'm not even sure why I'm surprised considering the X-Men are here.

Yeah, they're not exactly ... my X-Men. Plus, there are three Spider-Men in camp.

I give up trying to keep up with you people.

I'd draw a diagram, but basically, there are two Peter Parkers, one from the beginning of his career and one from the end—I'm from the end—and then there's a Spider-Man in a black and red suit, and picked up where I left off.

The X-Men, to my knowledge, come from a world where I'm about ten years older and didn't ... end my career when I was sixteen.

Oh.

You'd think your lives were complicated enough without this alternate worlds business.

From what I understand, there are a lot of different alternate universes; I was fortunate enough to know about them before I was sent into camp.
